Carebears

Oh, alright, I admit it. I DID see the Care Bears when I was younger. In fact, I even saw one of the Care Bears movies. And, you know what? It really wasn't THAT bad. On the occasions on which it got over itself, and dispensed with the all the sickly-sweet-sugary-sentimental MUSH (Admittedly, this wasn't all too often), it was alright, if you were still too young to realise that there was a stigma attached to watching girl's cartoons, especially if you weren't a girl. I don't remember all that much about it, other than that all the Care Bears had special powers related to the symbols on their stomachs, they all lived on a flying boat of some kind, and, most curiously, not all of the Care Bears were actually bears. In fact, if I remember correctly, even their leader was a lion called King Braveheart, or something, strutting about the ship giving out meaningless socially-minded maxims, left, right and centre. Doubtless it was their dissatisfaction with monarchy as a system of government which led to the bloody and mutinous revolution of the mid 80's, and their subsequent withdrawal from the public eye.
